The Olive Egger is not a pure bred chicken breed and can be made from several crosses. Generally it is made from crossing a real dark brown egg shell layer with a real true blue egg shell layer. These chicks will grow into hens that lay predominantly green eggs ranging in color from sage to olive. There is potential to lay other colors also. Olive Eggers are generally very docile and friendly chickens. They’re of moderate size and egg production – these are truly an ornamental bird.
